Message from The District Governor

Dear Rotarians and friends,

The Land Below the Wind welcomes you to the 2017-18 District Conference. The 27th District 3310 Conference in Kota Kinabalu is held in one of the most sought after tourism destination in Malaysia. She will charm you with her natural beauty, breath taking scenery, culinary delights and, of course, the friendly people of Sabah.

The crystal clear water of the picturesque islands surrounding the State capital is a great getaway for those seeking the sea, sand and sun. And if you desire the serenity and tranquillity of the mountain, then the Kinabalu National Park is just an hour and a half drive from the Convention Centre. Herein lies Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in South East Asia and also home to the world’s largest flower, the Rafflesia. You will be spoilt for choice.

I have no doubt that your stay here in my hometown, Kota Kinabalu, will always be remembered with fond memories that will linger on in the many years ahead. My spouse, Naomi and I awaits your arrival, and together, we will enhance Rotary’s image in making a difference to the community we serve and strengthen the brotherly ties among Rotarians and friends.

Please let us all descend to Kota Kinabalu to enjoy and celebrate after a year of service to humanity and making a difference to those whose lives we have changed.

Sincerely,

DG Datuk Lee Chuen Wan JP
District Governor 2017-18
